RRB ALP & Technician Recruitment

ONLINE applications are invited from eligible candidates for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot & Technicians. Applications complete in all respect should be submitted ONLINE ONLY before 23.59 hrs of 05.03.2018. One application ONLY is required to be submitted for all the notified posts in this CEN.

Eligibility

Nationality/Citizenship

A candidate must be either:
a. a citizen of India, or
b. a subject of Nepal, or
c. a subject of Bhutan, or
d. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
e. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit

18 to 28 years
The lower and upper age limit is common for all the notified posts and the same shall be reckoned as on 01.07.2018.

Age Relaxation :
SC/ST candidates – 5 Years
OBC-Non Creamy Layer candidates – 3 Years

Ex-Servicemen candidates who have put in more than 6 months service after attestation – Up to the extent of service rendered in Defence plus 3 years

Persons With Disabilities (PWD) UR – 10 Years
PWD OBC-Non Creamy Layer – 13 Years
PWD SC/ST – 15 Years
Candidates ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 – 5 Years

Assistant Loco Pilot :
A) Matriculation / SSLC plus ITI from recognised institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the trades of Armature and Coil Winder / Electrician / Electronics Mechanic / Fitter / Heat Engine / Instrument Mechanic / Machinist / Mechanic Diesel / Mechanic Motor Vehicle / Millwright Maintenance Mechanic / Mechanic Radio & TV / Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Mechanic / Tractor Mechanic / Turner / Wireman

(OR)

Matriculation / SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the trades mentioned above

(OR)

B) 3 years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering (OR) Combination of various streams of these Engineering disciplines from a recognised Institution in lieu of ITI.

Technician Grade III :
Matriculation / SSLC plus ITI from recognised institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the trade of particular field.
(OR)
Matriculation / SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the trade of particular field.

Those awaiting results of the final examination of the prescribed educational/technical qualification SHOULD NOT apply. Diploma/Degree in Engineering will not be accepted in lieu of course completed Act Apprenticeship / ITI for the post of Technicians unless otherwise specified.

Examination Fee

For all candidates except the fee concession categories – 500/-
For Candidates belonging to SC / ST / Ex-Serviceman / PWDs / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class – 250/-*

*This fee of ` 250 shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges as applicable, on appearing in First Stage CBT

Modes Of Payment Of Fee :
a. ONLINE fee payment through internet banking or debit/credit cards upto 05.03.2018 till 22.00 Hrs.

b. OFFLINE fee payment through
i. SBI Bank Branch for Challan Payment mode closes on 05.03.2018 at 13.00 Hrs in any branch of SBI.
ii. Post Office Challan Payment mode closes on 03.03.2018 at 13.00 Hrs in any branch of computerized Post Office.

All applicable service charges shall be borne by the candidate. If the fee is paid through off line mode viz (b) i & ii above, the receipt should be preserved. The same should be produced on demand at the time of DV.

How to Apply?

The application is common for all the RRBs. The option of RRB and the preference for posts within the opted RRB shall be taken after first stage CBT.

New Registration

Click on the online application link for ALP & Technicians

You will be redirected to Railway Recruitment Boards online application page.

Accept the instructions and go for new registration if you are a new user. Also select state as per your residential address

Note :
Application submitted through online does imply that candidate has fulfilled all the criteria. Application can be rejected at any point of time if it is found to be ineligible

Step 1 : Enter your Name
The name should be same as available in SSLC/ Matriculation
Step 2 : Re- Enter your name
Step 3 : Enter your DOB
Step 4 : State will be displayed automatically


Step 5 : Enter your Father Name
Step 6 : Enter your Mother Name
Step 7 : Select Matriculation/ State Board
Step 8 : Select Matriculation/ SSLC Roll No
Step 9 : Select Year of Passing SSLC/ Matriculation
Step 10 : Enter your Mobile Number
Step 11 : Re-Enter Mobile Number
Step 12 : Enter Email
Step 13 : Re-Enter Email
Step 14 : Enter Security Code
Step 15 : Accept the Declaration
Step 16 : Click Submit Button

Complete the Registration process by filling all the details for generating a Registration Id & Password for login and OTPs (One Time Password) for validation. The Registration Id and password will be displayed on the screen. OTPs will be sent to your registered mobile number and E-mail id.

Retrieve OTPs from mobile number and E-mail and validate them to proceed with the filling up of application.

Click On ‘Apply/Edit’ option on the screen. Complete the Eligibility Criteria Form and Submit. Before submitting the Eligibility Criteria Form, be sure that all the information is filled correctly. After submission, you can modify only by Paying the modification fee of Rs 250/-.

After submission of Eligibility criteria form, make the Payment by clicking on the Payment tab. Only after payment you will be able to fill the additional details and upload Photos etc.

Select the Payment Mode
1)Bank :
Net Banking /Credit card/Debit card etc : Select the mode of payment of fees from the options available such as Net Banking, Credit Card/Debit Card etc., Enter the details required on the relevant option screen and submit the payment.

After a while you will get the payment response as “Success” once bank has received your fees, or else a “Failure” response will be displayed on the screen along with the reason for failure.

Click on “SBI Branch” from the options. Fill the mobile number & date of birth and click “Confirm” button. Then click on the “Click here to Download” the form in PDF, take the print of the form , fill relevant details and pay the fees at your nearest SBI branch.

2)Post Office :
For Payment through Post Office, Select Post Office from the drop down and Click the button to proceed for generating a Challan. Take print of the Challan and pay the fees in the nearest computerized post office.
Note : No other mode of payment is permitted.

After successful payment, Click on the “Fill additional details” and complete the remaining application form by filling up additional details and Photo(s)/Document(s) Upload.

Final Submit. Before clicking on “Final submit”, review all the details filled and be sure that all are correct. After submission, it can be edited only by paying the modification fee of Rs 250/- . Modification can be done only twice.

Part 2 :
In the Part II application page, fill in details of:
Scribe (Applicable to eligible PWD Candidates only):
Provide details of Scribe duly uploading his/her passport size photograph. Furnishing of information of Scribe is mandatory.

Detailed Educational Qualification:
Furnish all the relevant information on the qualification as required in the application.

Choice of Exam Language for First and Second stage CBT:
English is the default language. In case the candidate wishes to choose any other language, then the same can be selected in addition from the drop down list.

Uploading of Color Photograph:
Select the Upload Photo tab and upload your colour photograph. The photograph should comply with the following requirements,
** The Colour passport photograph with white/light color back ground.
** Photograph of size 35mmX45mm with name and date printed on it.
** It should be in JPG/JPEG format scanned with 100 DPI.
** The size of the photograph should be between 15-40 KB
** The color photograph must have been taken on or after 01-12-2017 in a professional studio. Photographs taken using mobile and self composed portraits may result in rejection of application.
** The photo should have clear front view of the candidate without cap and sunglasses.
** The face should occupy at least 50% of the area of the photograph with a full face view looking at the camera directly.
** The main features of the face must not be covered by hair of the head, any cloth or any shadow.
** Fore head, eyes, nose and chin should be clearly visible.
** In case the candidate wears glass, then the photograph should not have any glare on glasses.
** The Photograph must match with the candidate appearance on the day of various stages of CBTs and DV.
** PWD candidates should also upload passport photograph as per above specifications only and not the full body photograph used in the disability certificate.

Note :
Slow internet connection is not recommended while submitting the online application. Please ensure that you are using atleast a minimum of 1-MBPS Internet Speed/ Connection before uploading/ submitting any information.

Hall Ticket

** Candidates can verify their eligibility status from the website of RRBs.
** SMS and email messages will be sent to all eligible candidates about the e-call letter upload details.

** Eligible candidates can download e-call letter (along with e-call letter for Scribe, wherever applicable) from the RRBs websites about 10 days before the date of the CBT / Computer Based Aptitude Test/ Document Verification (as applicable)

** No call letter will be sent to candidates by post.

** In case of SC/ST candidates who have uploaded the details of their community certificate for availing the benefit of free travel authority (Sleeper Class Railway Pass), the e-call letter for CBT/ Computer Based AT / DV (as applicable) will contain the free travel authority

** Candidates must bring their e- call letters along with a valid Photo ID (viz. Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, printout of e-Aadhaar, Driving License, PAN card, Passport, Identity Card issued by the employer in case the candidate is a Govt. Employee, School / College / University Photo ID card etc. in ORIGINAL to the examination hall.

** Candidates must also bring one colour photograph (of size 35mm x 45mm) which was uploaded in the application.
** Candidates will have to write the paragraph of self declaration, sign and affix LTI at the venue of the CBT in the presence of the Invigilator at the Examination Hall ONLY.
** RRB(s) will not entertain any request for any change in examination centre, date and session allotted to candidate(s).

Frequently Asked Questions

Payment Status not updates
Click on the “Check Payment Status” option provided in home page to know your payment status. This option is only to check status if you have paid through online options like credit/debit cards, net banking or Bank challan. This is not applicable for post office payment.

What are the requirements for Registration?
Candidates should have their own mobile number and valid & active personal email id and keep them active for the entire duration of recruitment. The email id should be unique.

What is the procedure for Registration?
Enter the personal details asked for in the Registration page including your mobile number and email id and submit. The registration ID and password will be displayed to the candidate and OTPs will be sent to the registered mobile number and email id for validation.

Can I edit the Registration details?
Registration details except mobile number, email id and State you belong to can be edited.

What is the procedure to login?
Use Registration ID and password which was displayed after registration and sent to your registered email id for logging in.

How do I know that my application is submitted?
Your application is successful only on completion of all the stages including the fee payment and document upload. After the final submit, preview button will be enabled in case of successful completion of application to view or to take print of your application.

I have not received email/sms during registration procedure? Why?
Check the correctness of mobile number and email id entered by you. Check your spam mails. You may also refresh and check your email after intervals. If no mail/sms is received, click on resend option. If it is noticed that the email id / mobile number has been wrongly entered inadvertently, click on change email id/mobile number option.

What should I do if I forget password?
Your password is your registered date of birth in the format DDMMYYYY . It will be available in your registered email also.

Whether examination fee is re-fundable
The fees is refundable only to SC / ST / Ex- Servicemen / PWDs / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class candidates on attending First Stage Computer Based Test.

Can I take the print out of the application any time?
Yes. You can login by using registration ID and password and click on preview to view/take print of your application.
