What is TNPSC Group- I Services Exam?

TNPSC Combined Civil Services Examination- I (Group- I Services ) is conducted by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. Applicants should possess a degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or any other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.

How To Apply TNPSC Group- I Services Exam?

To Apply TNPSC Group- I Services Exam, the procedure are given below
1. ONE TIME REGISTRATION:
It is mandatory for applicants to register their basic particulars through One Time online
Registration System on payment of Rs.150/- (Rupees One hundred and fifty only)
towards registration fee and then they should apply only through online for this
recruitment. The One Time Registration will be valid for five years from the date of
registration. Thereafter, the registration should be renewed by paying the prescribed
renewal fee. One Time Registration will not be considered as an application /
Examination fee for any post. An applicant should submit online application separately
for each and every examination / recruitment for which he / she intends to appear. The
registration fee paid towards the One Time Registration is not an application /
Examination fee for this recruitment. Candidates have to pay the prescribed
examination fee. Linking of Aadhaar with One Time Registration is mandatory.

1. Applicants should select the name of the post / Recruitment for which the applicant wishes to apply.
2. Online applications uploaded without the photograph, details of specified documents and signature will be rejected after due process.
3. All the particulars mentioned in the online application will be considered as final and no modifications will be allowed after the last date for submission of the online application.

I. Applicants should upload the required documents for proof in respect of all the claims made in the application with reference to this notification as and when called for. If the required certificates are not uploaded by the applicant, within the stipulated time, his/her application will be rejected after due process. [For further details refer para 13 of “Instructions to Applicants”].
II. Intimation to the Candidates: The Commission will publish the Preliminary Examination results, list of candidates shortlisted for Main Written Examination / Oral Test, Certificate Upload date and time, Oral Test etc., in the Commission’s Website. No individual Communication will be sent to the candidates by Post.
** However, the Commission provide the additional facility to the candidates by informing the above said dates, events and intimation relating to Certificate upload, Certificate Verification and Oral Test etc., via SMS and e-mail through the registered Mobile Number and email ID. Candidates are directed to watch the Commission’s website periodically for all updates and intimations. Commission is not responsible for failure / delay in delivery of SMS / email to the candidates due to any reason including technical issues. Any representation from the candidates for non-receipt of SMS or e-mail will not be responded.

Mode of Payment of Examination Fee

i. Preliminary Examination fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees One hundred only), is payable by online through Net Banking / Credit card / Debit card on or before the date of submission of online application by choosing the option in the online application.
ii. Applicants have to pay the service charges also as applicable. 9
iii. Applicants can avail exemption from paying examination fee as per eligibility criteria.
iv. Offline mode of payment, if any received in the form of demand draft / postal order etc. will not be accepted and the applications forwarded with such modes of payment will be summarily rejected and the same will not be either returned or refunded.
v. The Commission is not responsible for online payment failure or delayed reconciliation of fee by the banks.

Selection Procedure of TNPSC Group- I Exam

The Selection Procedure of TNPSC Group- I Services Exam are given below,
The selection will be made in three successive stages viz.,
(i) Preliminary Examination for selection of candidates for admission to the Main Written Examination
(ii) Main Written Examination and
(iii) an Oral Test in the shape of an Interview.

**The Preliminary Examination is meant to serve as a screening test only.
**The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Main Written Examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit.
**The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Written Examination will be 20 times the number of candidates to be recruited having regard to the rule of reservation of appointments.
**However, in each reservation group, all the candidates who secure the same marks as that of cut off marks of their reservation groups shall also be admitted to the Main Written Examination, though the number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Written Examination may exceed 1:20 ratio.
**No supplemental list will be published in the place of rejected candidates (or) candidates who have failed to send documents for verification.
**The final selection will be made based on the total marks obtained by the candidates in the Main Written Examination Paper-II, Paper-III, Paper-IV and Oral Test taken together, subject to Rule of Reservation of Appointments.
