Applications are invited for Direct Recruitment for the post of SECONDARY GRADE TEACHERS in the Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu Elementary Educational Subordinate Service for the year 2023-2024 from the eligible candidates of Tamil Nadu only through Online mode up to 5.00 p.m. on 15.03.2024. The Candidates applying for the post of SECONDARY GRADE TEACHERS should possess a valid Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test Certificate (TNTET – Paper– I).

Age Limit of Secondary Grade Teachers

Age Limit (as on 01.07.2024)
As per the G.O (M.s) No.185, School Education (Budget-1) Department dated: 21.10.2023, the upper age limit (relating to Age Rule 6(a) of the Special Rules for the Tamil Nadu Elementary Educational Subordinate Service) has been fixed by the Government is as follows:

(i) The upper age limit for the candidates belonging to General Category for appointment by direct recruitment to this selection is 53 years of age as on the first day of July of the recruitment year viz:2024.

(ii) Also the upper age limit for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Class Muslims, Backward Classes, MBC/DNC and DW of all castes is 58 years of age as on the first day of July of the recruitment year viz:2024.

Educational Qualification of Secondary Grade Teachers

No Candidates shall be eligible for appointment to the post of Secondary Grade Teacher, unless he / she possesses the minimum qualification as mentioned below;
(a) Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known);
(or)
Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002;
(or)
Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.);
(or)
Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education);
(or)
Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known);
and
(b) Passed in the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) Paper – I

How To Apply for Secondary Grade Teachers?

A. Candidates should read carefully “How to Apply” section given in the Notification / TRB’s website.
B. Candidates should apply only through Online mode in the Teachers Recruitment Boards website: https://www.trb.tn.gov.in. No other mode of application will be entertained. The application process is entirely Online.
C. A Valid e-mail id and Mobile Number of candidates are mandatory for registration and e-mail id should be kept active for all future correspondence.
D. Evidence for claims made by the candidate, while applying in Online Mode shall be uploaded by the candidate. The same will be verified subsequently at the time of Certificate Verification, if called for.

E. All the particulars and documents mentioned in the Online application including name of the candidate, post applied for, communal reservation, date of birth, address and all other fields will be considered as final. The Candidates can make any changes (addition / deletion) if necessary, while filling the Online application before final submission.

F. Incomplete or defective applications shall be summarily rejected. No representation or correspondence regarding such rejection shall be entertained under any circumstances.

G. The candidates are advised to exercise due diligence at the time of filling the application. In case, if duplicate application of a candidate for the same subject is detected, t h e Board will consider only the latest application, if it is in order.

Scheme Of Selection for Secondary Grade Teachers

A. Compulsory Tamil Language Eligibility Test
B. Written Examination
C. Certificate Verification

A. Compulsory Tamil Language Eligibility Test :
The Tamil Language Eligibility Test is a qualifying test only and will be conducted as per the scheme of examination mentioned above.

B. Written Examination:
(i) The Date, Time and Center for the Written Examination will be mentioned in the Hall Ticket. The Hall Ticket for the eligible Candidates will be uploaded by the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) in its website.
(ii) The participation of the Candidates in the OMR based Written Examination is purely provisional and does not confer any right for selection. acceptance of their claim in the application.
(iii) Scribes: Eligible for Differently Abled candidates will be allowed assistance of scribes based on the claims made in the online application and submission of Disability Certificate / Medical Board’s Certificate.

(iv) Examination Results:
a) Tentative Answer Key :
Teachers Recruitment Board will publish the tentative answer key in its website after the conduct of the examination.

b) Objection Tracker :
Any objections with regard to the Tentative answer key shall be invited by Online mode only within the prescribed time in the prescribed proforma available in the website. Objections can be raised in the dedicated link for a particular time only. Mail and written representations will not be entertained.

c) Final Answer Key :
The objections received from the candidates shall be finalized by the Subject Experts and final answer key shall be hosted in the TRB’s Website along with the examination result. No further representations on published final answer key will be entertained. The decision of the Teachers Recruitment Board in this regard shall be final.

d) Publication of Examination Marks :
The final examination marks will be published in the TRB’s Website and a Press release will be issued.

C. Certificate Verification (C.V.):
(i) The Certificate Verification (CV) list shall be scrutinized based on the claims made by the candidates in the Online applications and uploaded documents only.

(ii) The Certificate Verification (C.V) list shall be prepared based on the written competitive examination marks (Part – B) and Weightage marks taken together and as per rule of reservation for appointment to the post drawn in the ratio of 1:1.25.
