MHRB Assam Registrar, Demonstrator Recruitment

Medical and Health Recruitment Board, Assam invites online application in the website- from the intending candidates having Indian citizenship as mentioned in Article 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India and having requisite qualification and registration under Assam Council of Medical Registration or Medical Council of India / National Medical Commission for recruitment to the posts of Registrar/Demonstrator/Resident Physician etc. in different Departments in Government Medical Colleges under the Medical Education & Research Department, Government of Assam.

Number and reservation of posts: 526 (Five Hundred Twenty Six)

Scale of Pay: Rs.57,700/- – Rs.1,82,400/- PM (Academic level 10) plus other allowances as admissible under Rules.


** A candidate should not be less than 21 Years and more than 45 Years as on 01/01/2024, irrespective of category of applicants (As per Govt. OM No.ABP.55/2023/25 dated 04/07/2023).
** The upper age limit is relaxable by (if applicable)-
(i) For Persons with Disabilities (PWD) by 10 years irrespective of SC/ST/OBC and General Category of candidates as per Govt. Notification No.ABP.144/95/121 dated 28/10/2015.

Educational Qualification

Registrar/ Demonstrator/Resident Physician etc.

a. Broad Speciality :
** A Post Graduate qualification MD/ MS/ DNB in the concerned subject from an institute under any Indian University recognised by National Medical Commission (previously MCI) / National Board of Education (NBE) for the following Departments
Anaesthesiology, Dermatology, ENT, Emergency Medicine, FSM, Medicine, Microbiology, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, O&G, Pharmacology, Pathology, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, PM & R, Radiology, Radiation Oncology, Surgery, SPM (Community Medicine), TB & Chest (Pulmonary Medicine), Nuclear Medicine.

** A Post Graduate qualification MS (Anatomy) / MSc (Medical Anatomy) with PhD in Medical Anatomy for Anatomy Department.
** A Post Graduate qualification MD (Biochemistry) / MSc (Medical Biochemistry) with PhD in Medical Biochemistry for Biochemistry Department.
** A Post Graduate qualification MD (Physiology) / MSc (Medical Physiology) with PhD in Medical Physiology for Physiology Department.

b. Super Specialty-
** A Post Graduate qualification MD/DNB in General Medicine for Medical Super Specialty (Cardiology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Medical Oncology)
** A Post Graduate qualification MS/DNB in General Surgery for Surgical Super Specialty (Plastic Surgery, CTVS, Neuro-Surgery, Urology, Paediatric Surgery)
** Candidates having DM/ M.Ch./ DNB in the concerned super specialty subject will be given preference/ weightage

Application fees

** Application must be accompanied with required application fee of Rs. 250/- (rupees two hundred fifty) only for General category candidates and Rs. 150/- (rupees one hundred fifty) only for OBC/MOBC/SC/ST (P)/ST (H) candidate. No application fee is required for candidates having PWD certificate.

** Application fee should be deposited only, through Treasury Challan in the Head of Account “0210- Medical and Public Health-01-Urban Health Services-800-Other Receipt”. The fees are not refundable and no other mode of deposit of fee other than through Treasury Challan, shall be accepted.

** Fees can be deposited online using Government Receipt Accounting System-GRAS (Website: Candidates may pay the requisites fees (as admissible for the category mentioned above). Printed copy of Treasury Challan generated through GRAS should be submitted at the time of scrutiny of documents. In Remarks column, candidate may write the post applied for.

Terms and Conditions

i. Candidates need not submit any testimonials/certificate at the time of submission of online application. However, candidates have to produce their original testimonials regarding educational qualification, date of birth, caste, PWD, Treasury challan, working experience etc. along with the application form, at the time of interview. Self-attested copies of all testimonials/certificates will have to be submitted to the Board at the time of interview.

ii. Application form, which is incomplete in any respect, such as, without photograph and signature, is liable to be rejected summarily.
iii. Only those candidates who fulfill all the terms and conditions of the advertisement in respect of the post for which they are applicants shall be entertained. Others need not apply.
iv. The Board reserves the right to cancel, alter or modify the advertisement or other terms and conditions of the advertisement without any prior notice.
v. All other matters which are not specially provided in this advertisement shall be decided by the Board.
