Act Apprentice East Central Railway

ONLINE applications are invited from interested candidates for engagement of Act Apprentices for imparting training under the Apprentice Act 1961 in the designated trades at Divisions/Units in the jurisdiction of East Central Railway against 1832 slots. Applications complete in all respects should be submitted only ONLINE till 17:00 hrs of the closing date.

Candidates have to choose only one Division/Unit. Details of Divisons/Units and number of slots are as under:-

Eligibility Conditions

Educational Qualification :
The candidate must have passed Matric/10th class examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 examination system) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate, from recognized Board and ITI in relevant trade (i.e National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by National Council for Vocational Training or Provisional Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training/State Council for Vocational Training).

Age Limit :
The candidates should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01.01.2023.
The upper age limit is relaxable for following specified categories to the extent indicated below:
i) By 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST communities.
ii) By 3 years for candidates belonging to OBC communities.
iii) For Persons with Benchmark Disabilities(PwBD) -10 years for UR, 13 years for OBC and 15 years for SC/ST candidates.
iv) Relaxation for Ex-servicemen in the age will be total Military service plus 3 years subject to completion of at least six months regular attested service.

Ex-Servicemen :
An Ex-serviceman candidate selected under the reservation provided for them is to be placed in the appropriate category viz. UR/SC/ST/OBC/EWS to which he/she belongs Ex-servicemen. Their children and children of Armed Forces Personnel will be engaged for Apprenticeship as per preference order mentioned below:-
a) Children of deceased/disabled Ex-servicemen including those killed/disabled during peace time.
b) Children of Ex-servicemen
c) Children of Serving Jawans
d) Children of Serving Officers
e) Ex-servicemen

Mode Of Selection

** Selection for Apprenticeship training will be on the basis of merit list prepared in respect of all the candidates who apply against the notification for a particular Division/Unit. The merit list will be prepared taking the average of the %age marks obtained by the candidates in both Matriculation with minimum 50% (aggregate marks) and ITI examination giving equal weightage to both.

For the purpose of calculation of percentage of matriculation, marks obtained by the candidates in all subjects will be reckoned and not on the basis of marks of any subject or a group of subjects.

** In case of two candidates having the same marks, the candidate with older age shall be preferred. In case the dates of birth are also same, then the candidate who passed matriculation exam earlier shall be considered first.

** Candidature of finally enlisted candidates for Apprenticeship Training will be subjected to verification of original documents and being found fit in appropriate Medical examination.

How To Apply?

1. Candidates are required to apply ONLINE by visiting official website of RRC (ECR) www.rrcecr.gov.in. Detailed instructions for filling up ONLINE applications is available on the website.
2. Candidates are required to log on to official website of RRC (ECR) www.rrcecr.gov.in provided for filling ONLINE applications and fill up the Personal details/Bio-data etc. carefully.

NOTE-1:
Candidates should be in possession of Aadhar Card. At the time of registration, candidates have to fill 12 digits Aadhar Card number. The candidates not having Aadhar number and have enrolled for the same but have not received Aadhar card can enter 28 digits Aadhar Enrolment ID printed on the Aadhar enrolment slip.

This provision is applicable to the candidates of all states and union territories accept the state of Jammu & Kashmir, Meghalaya and Assam. Applicants from these states can enter in the online application form, their voter id number, valid passport number, driving licence number or any other valid government identity card at the time of online application.

Candidates have to produce original Aadhar Card or document mentioned above at the time of document verification.

NOTE-2:
Candidates should ensure their name, father’s name, date of birth. Percentage of marks in Matric(10th) and ITI etc. should match exactly as recorded in Matriculation/ITI certificate. Any deviation found during any stage will lead to cancellation of candidature.

NOTE-3:
Candidates are advised to indicate their active mobile number and valid email id in the ONLINE application and keep them active during entire engagement process as all important information/messages will be sent by email/SMS which will be treated as deemed to have been read by the candidates.

3. Candidates trying to submit more than one application with different particulars like Name/Father’s name/Community/Photo/Educational and/or Technical qualification etc. or with different e-mail ID/Mobile number are informed that all such applications will be summarily rejected and liable to be debarred.

4. Candidates have to keep printouts of their ONLINE application. If found eligible, he/she will be called for document verification and the printout of online application will be required to be produced at the time of document verification.

SCANNED PHOTOGRAPH/SOFT COPY OF PHOTOGRAPH :
Candidates are required to upload their colour photograph (size 3.5 cm X 3.5 cm taken not later than three months from the date of application in colour, JPG/JPEG format, 100 DPI, size of file should be between 20 kb to 70 kb) with clear front view of the candidate without cap and sunglasses.

Candidates may note that RRC may, at any stage, reject the applications for uploading old/unclear photograph or for any significant variations between photograph uploaded in the application form and the actual physical appearance of the candidate. Candidates are advised to keep two additional copies of the same photograph ready with them for bringing at the time of document verification.

SCANNED SIGNATURE/SOFT COPY OF SIGNATURE:
Candidates are also required to upload their signature (size 3.5 cm X 1.5 cm. in JPG/JPEG format, 100 DPI, size of file should be between 10 kb to 30 kb). Signature must be in running handwriting not in block/capital or disjointed letters.

Documents To Be Uploaded

Candidates are required to upload the legible scanned copy of the following documents:
1 SSC (Standard 10th) or its equivalent Marks Sheet.
2 Certificate for proof of Date of Birth ((Standard 10th or its equivalent Marks Sheet or School Leaving Certificate indicating Date of Birth).
3 Consolidated Marks Sheet of ITI for all semesters of the trade in which applied/ Provisional National Trade Certificate indicating marks.
4 National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT or Provisional National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT /SCVT.
5 Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC candidates, in Annexure-“I” & “II”, wherever applicable. EWS certificate in Annexure-III.
6 Disability certificate, in case of PwBD Candidate in Annexure-IV.
7 Discharge certificate/Serving certificate, in case of candidates applied against Ex-servicemen quota.

Production of original documents, as stated above, and identity proof/ Aadhar Card on the day of document verification is mandatory without which, candidate will not be allowed to appear in the document verification. Certificates in languages other than English or Hindi should be accompanied by an attested translation in English/Hindi.
